A festival of steam at the Pickering Traction Engine Steam Rally in August this year, Pickering is in North Yorkshire and one of the gateways to the North Yorkshire Moors and home of the famous Steam Train from Pickering to Whitby.
Below is just a few of the steam engines taken that day, the ones shown are just being fired up ready to roll around the show ground, I will post pics of them later.

ABC WEDNESDAY ROUND 3 = E = ENGINE
The photos were taken at the Pickering Traction Engine Rally on the Second August 2008 the engines were the first things I saw, and thought they would be good for this ABC WEDNESDAY ROUND 3. The rally was fantastic and later on will be posting more from my day out, the large and small traction engines and some more on cars and not forgetting the old motorbikes.
Hope you like these?

CARVINGS AT BURTON AGNES HALL EAST YORKSHIRE
Here are the full set of carvings from Burton Agnes Hall this set includes the one I posted for ABC Wednesday last week.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I did and still do, the words say it all just have a read, there is more to see if you enlarge the photographs.
Depending on the light is how they appear to be different colors/colours, deep or light bronze. You will notice I have shown one carving twice, no reason why!!
The frist picture is the beautiful Burton Agnes Hall the Hydrangea bushes that can be seen, are all around the hall and all the same color/colour.
Close to the church tower that can just be seen, is were I found the carvings, to visit the church you have to leave the grounds and take a short walk.

ABC WEDNESDAY = C = CARVINGS
I came across this carving in the grounds of Burton Agnes Hall, there are about 9 in all, the others will be posted on my return in about three days from today. It looks as if the wood could be ply and the carvings coloured to simulate bronze. You need to click on the photo to see it at it's best and read the words.
