Beauly near Inverness 26th June 2013

The village of Beauly is some 12 to 15 miles from Inverness and the nearest village to where we stayed, each Thursday evening in the square the local Beauly Highland Dancers along with the Beauly Pipes and Drums Band give an evening of  excellent entertainment, along with the fantastic hospitality of the local people. This is a free evening, however if visiting please make donation to help support this wonderful event.
The first photo is Beauly high street, second the Beauly in bloom statue collecting point, third and forth the Beauly Pipes and Drums band, fifth view into shop window.

ABC WEDNESDAY 3 = G = GREAT BANDS = MASS PIPES AND DRUMS OF THE EDINBURGH TATTOO 2008

19 August 2008 late evening in Edinburgh at the Edinburgh Festival and Military Tattoo, the photos are the very best I could do as it rained from start to finnish.

I felt really sorry for the Chelsea Pensioners who had to sit in the stands for the whole show, then asked to join in the march off, why could they not have been allowed to sit with all the other VIPs under cover, or was it more important to keep a few so called bebs dry?

ABC WEDNESDAY = C = CARVINGS

I came across this carving in the grounds of Burton Agnes Hall, there are about 9 in all, the others will be posted on my return in about three days from today. It looks as if the wood could be ply and the carvings coloured to simulate bronze. You need to click on the photo to see it at it's best and read the words.
