HORNSEA MERE EAST YORKSHIRE ENGLAND

Hornsea Mere is the largest fresh water lake or Mere in East Yorkshire, I stand to be corrected on this point, It's on the East Coast of England south of Bridlington.

To explain the blue of the water it was a very sunny day bright blue skies and with the water being shallow it makes it look more blue then it is.

Not one person had a rowing or sailing boat out the day we were there, the again even being sunny it was very cold and at times windy, as you can see even the geese sheltered under the large tree.

The same person being in the photo three times was put together from three different photos taken first from one side of the seat then the other and last from standing at the back by my friend in RAW format, they were then put together in Photoshop.

Please click on photos to make larger and see more detail!

My next photo blog will be of Burnby Gardens they have the National Collections of water lillies as well as beautiful walks and gardens.

INSIDE HOWDEN MINSTER IN THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE

The inside of Howden Minster turned out to be a beautiful surprise, quite small for a minster but so nice, the big red banner was the first thing I saw and then the stunning stained glass windows, I must have had my eyes shut not to have noticed them before the banner.

The glass so I understand was made in Belguim I was told that is the reason for them retaining such vivid colours or colors. Sorry there are only six photos this was due to a private service taking place and i did not want to spoil the service with the click, click, click of my camera.

If you wish to make the photo of the eagle bigger you will see a face in the ball the eagle has it's claws around, it is just a face of someone watching me taking the photo.

Something blue from the grounds of Howden Minster

I saw this on the walls of Howden Minster, for people who do not know this area of the UK the small town of Howden is near to the town of Goole, follow the river Humber up stream from the city of Kingston upon Hull. Or just Goggle Howden UK, also on Goole Earth.

More of the Minster will be posted later a few will be of the beautiful stained glass windows from inside.

SKEGNESS BLUE BIKES PARKED FOR A SUNNY DAY

The bikes were parked up in Skegness on a sunny day, the first photo was a bike on it's own, I just loved the reflection in the rear break light. The last three are the same bike. If you click on the pictures you will see just how well these bikes are kept by their owners.

BLAIR DRUMMOND SAFARI PARK SCOTLAND

Blair Drummond is about 20 minutes from the Falkirk Wheel and 10 minutes from Stirling on a good day , the five photos show two birds of prey, one Hawk one Volture then a Marmoset and two groups of Lions. The Hawk and Volture were the only two photos taken in the open, the Mormoset was behind glass and the Lions from inside my car. The Penguins, Zebra and Reindeer were all taken from overhead or ground level walkways and from a safe distance for the safety of the animals.

Full Turn of the Falkirk Wheel

The eight photos show a complete turn of the Falkirk Wheel taking craft from the FORTH & CLYDE canal at the top down to the basen leading to the UNION canal below.

It was dark and wet day, sometimes.
