These are the last ten photos taken from the banks of the river Tagus all are of the Monument of the Discoveries, in the Belem area of Lisbon - Lisboa the next two blogs will be from the cruise ship Independence of the Sea's as it sails down stream you will see the monument again and the Belem tower.Next port of call and the last will be Vigo in Spain during our cruise May - June 2011 hope you have enjoyed the photographs I have taken so far....
This blog continues in the Belam area of Lisbon first three are within the grounds and gardens close to the maritime museum, then across the road to the Monuemt of the Discoveries, it isa modem scalpture by the river side, in the shape of a caravel with historic figures who were involved in the discovery of the New Lands Prince Henry is on the prow!! There is an elevator inside the monument with panoramic views of the area...
We are still in the City centre for the first 11 photos the remaining 8 photos are close to the river Tagus and in the area known as Belem this is where Vasco da Gama set sail for the New World. The photos shown are of the Maritime Museum and grounds close to the Monument of the Discoveries which will be my next blog situated on the banks of the Tagus river!!
