Cannes day's 5 and 6 of our cruise May - June 2011 from Southampton
Sailing to Cannes from Gibraltar after the explosion, we encountered some bad weather and the seas became rough, for the folks who suffer travel sickness this was not a good night...The first 4 photos give some idea of the condition's however by morning it had all settled down as we approached Cannes famous for its film festival, and rain, umbrella sellers and sellers of shoddy goods while your trying to enjoy a coffee, needless to say I do not like Cannes and only photographed one building!! We also had to be ferried from the ship to land!
I could not wait to leave, and was glad to hear the captain announce we are about to sail for Barcelona!!
Those seas do look choppy. My husband, who somehow managed to serve several years in the US Navy but never set foot on a ship, to this day refuses to go on a cruise...he gets seasick very easily. Everyone tells us those big cruise ships are impervious to the high seas....I'm not so sure!
Hi Sara, yes they are good in bad weather, the swell was a lot bigger then the waves look! Your husband is a smart man! I don't think any ship is impervious to high seas!
I, have worked all my life, served in the army as a regular, get fed up with people who moan all the time but will not lift one finger to improve things or even help someone. I do voluntary work and love it.
I along with 4 other stroke survivors took a petition to Parliament in 1999.It succeeded but only with the help of a lot of dedicated people within the NHS, who cared and wanted what we stroke survivors desired. I worked and helped to set up stroke clubs in our area with my friends who are user/carer members, This is done without interference from the so called professionalorganisations. I am also a member of a few disability groups . I may be a bit of a pain to some who think they do a good job, but will not move on or change for the better.
